IUE PSIR Faculty Members participated in the Third National Conference of the Turkish Political Science Association
Faculty members of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Prof. Dr. Filiz Başkan, Assoc. Prof. Serhun Al, Dr. Umut Can Adısönmez, Dr. Ogan Yumlu, and Res. Asst. Nil Dikmengil and our PhD student Ecem Gacener presented their works at the event held on 28-29 September.
Filiz Başkan, together with Özde Aslı Akbay from the University of Vienna, presented “Populist Movements and Anti-Elitism: A Comparative Analysis of Erdoğan's Anti-Elite” in the session ‘Varieties of Populism in the Context of the Transforming West and Turkey’.
In the same panel, Umut Can Adısönmez and Serhun Al presented “From Beka to Gaza? Turkey's New Ontological Security Regime and the Goal of Becoming a Neo-Imperial Actor in World Politics”.
Ogan Yumlu presented his paper titled “The Relationship between Structure and Agent in Critical Realism” in the “Political Theory” session.
Nil Dikmengil presented her paper titled “Global Civil Society Actors; How Global?” in the session “Theoretical Debates in International Relations - II”.
Our PhD student Ecem Gacener presented her paper titled “Protecting Green Policies: The Struggle of Democratic Regression in Environmental Politics” in the session ‘Political Economy - II’.
