The Department of Political Science and International Relations is committed to help students develop analytical and critical thinking skills, ethical values and leadership qualities, and understand and discuss national and global political trends.
Faculty members, all of whom have been awarded degrees from well-respected American, European and Turkish universities, pursue a leading and innovative educational vision in the field. They have developed an extensive research and educational program on issue including Turkish politics, foreign and military policies, European Union, international organizations, public opinion, electoral behavior, democratization, human rights, social justice, immigration and citizenship. The core and elective courses fall under four main subjects: international relations, comparative politics, political theory and Turkish politics. The curriculum is interdisciplinary in nature and incorporates fields such as history, law, philosophy, economics, sociology, geography and anthropology.
