About Us

The Department of Political Science and International Relations offers B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. programs that span the major fields of the discipline: comparative politics, international relations, political theory, and Turkish politics.

Our faculty members hold degrees from leading universities in North America, Europe, and Turkey. Their research and teaching engage both foundational areas and innovative, interdisciplinary perspectives in political science and international relations.

Our vision is grounded in a commitment to excellence in education, research, and public engagement. 

Our core mission is to encourage students to develop analytical skills and academic perspectives on contemporary political challenges, with a view toward fostering more just and sustainable societies in a rapidly changing world. Alongside foundational courses, students explore a wide range of pressing global and regional issues such as democracy, human rights, European and Middle Eastern politics, gender, security, public opinion, nationalism, memory politics, conflict resolution, transitional justice, and international organizations. 

Graduates of the Department pursue successful careers in academia, public service, international organizations, the media, and the private sector, both in Turkey and internationally.
