Important Explanation About Elective Courses

There are 12 elective courses in the curriculum of the Department of Political Science and International Relations. In order to graduate, the students must take

  • 6 elective courses from of the department, 
  • 6 elective courses either from inside the Faculty or among the courses of other departments.

Important Explanation About GEC POOL Courses

In order to graduate, students of the Department of Political Science and International Relations must take 10 courses from the GEC (General Education Courses) POOLs:

  • 1 course from "Natural and Life Sciences" pool,
  • 1 course from "Mathematics and Computer Sciences" pool (MATH 101),
  • 2 courses from "Social Sciences - A" pool (ECON 101, ECON 102),
  • 3 courses from "Social Sciences - B" pool (PSIR 204, PSIR 207 and 1 optional course),
  • 1 course from "Social Sciences - C" pool,
  • 1 course from "Social Awareness and Ethics" pool,
  • 1 course from "Innovation and Entreprenuership" pool.               

 

European Union Studies Certificate Program

The program is open for all 3rd grade students of any undergraduate programs of the IUE.  Students with an average of minimum 2.00 GPA in four EU-related courses, including one compulsory course (PSIR 201 - History and Institutions of the EU) and 3 elective courses will receive the Certificate. ​
